When it comes to most commissions, you don't have clients. You have sheep. Because in most cases, your commissioners are also your fans (some of which think commissioning is a means to become your friend). They are commissioning you purely for personal reasons that have nothing to do with their own business related ambitions (like getting their own project together). Commissioners will let artists slide for fucking up so hard that it's the reason why there are a lot of irresponsible artists who still get attention and work.

Most commissioners don't understand business relationships and don't have standards in terms of conduct. I'm not going to name names, but there are loads of artists who are irresponsible and have a retarded commission backlog while having already gotten paid for them.
