I wish this board were to be split into two. One for /art discussion/ and another for /art critique/. If one looks at the catalog, many threads have nothing to do with the actual act of drawing/painting at all, but on somewhat tangentially related topics instead. The ones who wish to draw/paint can have their own space strictly for topics that deal with the actual creation of art from said posters. Slower yes, but I would imagine it would encourage better posters or at least separate the two groups that dislike one another on this board. Keep the drama in /art discussion/ and actually create art in /art critique/ Similar in the spirit of why /vr/ was created to break away from /v/.

The worst part is that the people who did it(probably just a few spergs) attacked him for his content. They found what he drew offensive and did everything they could to get him to stop. It was a dark time for /ic/, though considering the amount of shitposters here now, not much has changed.

I know, and I think it was better back before style was so widely accepted, even still technical skill was praised no matter what the style, it just wasn't encouraged at all to stylize before having a full understanding of the fundamentals.

And his content was extremely helpful. The kind of critique and work he did was in depth and could really help the artist improve before he was chased away by a bunch of faggots who couldn't separate 2d stylized artwork from reality.

Now I know you're new here. Animu threads are a fairly recent thing on /ic/. Just 2 years ago it started as a containment thread where other people often shitposted for keks before it was called the stylization general. Teal has been around much longer than that.
