1951089 No.1951089 [Reply] [Original]

I've been working on this for a year and still can't get it right. I don't know how to draw the arms, despite looking at many reference photos. Any advice or redline is much appreciated.

all you can do is draw more arms. I'd go do studies that don't really relate to this drawing and return after you are more confident.

Wow, that hair is banging from what I can see.

Pose seems stiff, tho.

Dude, thats the problem, you need to draw more different stuff not just render one good drawing IMO

Have to go but I can dump the frame-by-frame stills of these gifs when I get back if you want.

OP, you need to listen to what >>1951660
said. Don't spend a year on one picture. You have to learn to recognize when something isn't working or when it's "good enough", and then move on. You get better through practicing a wide variety of things often, not getting one thing absolutely perfect.

Use these gifs so you can see what is happening with the arms as they move, but these are to be used in conjunction with real people and photo references.

Question: is there more of these animated images? Especially the inside of the legs? Link please?

Also I can't help but notice most of those images pertain muscle - what about fat? Is there a source on fat distribution and how it reacts to movement, bending etc.? I hope not to start another thread over this subject so I'm asking here.

There's only one of legs that I found, and here it is. If anyone else has any more, I'd love to have them.

Fat is weird and hard to find good tutorials for. The main thing to remember is that it congregates in certain areas that vary depending on gender as well as the individual, but it also refuses to cling to other areas, such as knees and elbows. I'll see what I can pull but I honestly don't have a lot. I need more.

Reference anon, I can't thank you enough! I'm using these right now and I think it's already helping.

And when I said I've been working on this for a year, I didn't mean this same drawing. I've gone through many poses and decided to scrap them for this. Also, I don't have much time to draw anymore, so it's been sporadic.
