Sorry, that was a bit blunt.
I want to have artists friends to talk to about well duh, art.
I want to form some sort of guild to help eachother and improve ourselves mutually while also sharing a friendship.
This place is a bit too much impersonal and well, you really don't know who is giving critiques to who.
I just want to have some direct contact with people going down this path.

It's really a crapshoot. Those pros don't want to hang around with /ic/-level noobs; they want to be around their peers, whom they can learn from, too. And, if an /ic/-level noob tries to assemble a group of other noobs to be friends with, he's got to realize that 95% of them are never going to grow into the sorts of artists that are worth being friends with.

First, Don't we have a google hangout for this place?

Second if you want friends join an art forum (which you should be apart of already if you want to truly grow and you'll have to network eventually) the anonymity of this place is great for free speech but a hindrance to an art career.

A novice can give you horrible advice just because he/she heard a more famous artist say something or read something in a book and stick to it like gospel, you can simply be trolled by someone and develop bad habits.

There's a reason why people leave this board (I'm not saying you have to leave, I still come here time to time it has great book resources).

Besides there are art groups wanting to welcome you with open arms because they're lonely.
