is noah not credible? Like I said I'm a beginner so I don't know everyone's general opinion

Well to be honest he does seem successful, its just that /ic/ tends to rag on his technical ability, SJW pandering and attention whoring. (Just what I've heard from others here, not necessarily my own views).

I really wouldn't trust the guy's lecture though, just looks like another way for him to get money off people wishing to get into freelance art.

As you've said yourself, you're a beginner so why bother looking into something like this so soon?

i hate noah, but that mp3 is worth pirating, even buying probably.

As a general rule, those who can't do, teach.

It's most probably his lecture won't get you any closer to freelance superstardom, but it will keep him quite farther from your unsuccessful misery thanks to your money.

Interesting veiws. Thank you /ic/. I just saw his name on some magic cards and decided to look him up, never hearing about him before. His art looked good and then I saw he did the lecture, so instead of rushing in I decided to check if he was a shill. Thanks for saving me from a wastefull purchase /ic/! Back to Loomis and vilppu I go

You're probably gone by now, but pirate it, and if you found useful information, pay for it.

Letting a /ic/ make your decision for you, especially about an artist most seem to have an irrational hatred over, is a mistake. Form your own opinion.

Noah's ego is a bit out of control, so that's why people don't like him. He's also part of a selection of people online who are trying to profit off of the artists dream. "If I can do it, so can you!". It's a bit scummy and tacky, but you can also get good info. BEING SAID:

Noah is undeniably a pretty talented guy, and a successful businessman. If you want to have a successful freelance career, you need to start thinking more like him. You provide a business-to-business service, and you need to act accordingly.

You should listen to this in it's entirety. It's a great introduction to freelancing if you're going off nothing. You'll definitely hear some stuff you just couldn't put into words before, and it's mostly good stuff.

It's a little biased towards freelance concept art, but any freelancer will find some useful information in this. I focus more on general freelance illustration for more varied projects, and a lot of the things that have gotten me more work stem from things he's outlined.

Simply listening to this will get you no where. It's a good starting point, but it's up to you do use your head and get work.

You can pirate it very, very easily and I recommend you do so. It's well articulated and organized, and you will come out of it a more informed artist. Just put it on in the background for a day. You have nothing to lose if you pirate it.

I think its just basic business advice with an art spin?

I go to the school Noah went to, and had the chance to meet him once a few years ago. He's a nice guy, and I have no doubt you can learn from his lectures, especially if you have no other art schooling (some of which is probably worse).

That being said, the general sentiment towards him amongst the faculty is negative. I personally believe his product is vastly inferior to a proper art education in which you have the chance to learn form multiple professors and blend together technical and historical knowledge. Your art education is what you make of it. Noah's product is only a piece of the puzzle. If you supplement it with other good sources, you'll have a very wholesome education.
