Having just written some autobalancing physics rigs for games I gotta somewhat refute this, balancing something is not as insanely difficult
as the problem might seem at first, all you need to do is place the center of mass behind your force vector counteracting gravity or centripetal forces while banking turns etc.
If this force vector is a single contact point, like standing on one leg, you gotta slow your velocity enough that you can keep balanced by oscilating your momentum
back and forth moving your center of mass around it at all times. For 2 legs planted this becomes a much simpler task of just balancing back and forth since
you're already stable in one direction, and 3 or more contact points will stabilize themselves, like a cameras tripod.

Solving balance algorithmically isn't really the tricky bit, tricky bit is building hardware with sensors and motor responses accurate and fast enough to deal with realworld forces.
We humans comes prewired with really delicate muslces and sensors so given how easy balance is to solve it's no surprise that even the simplest animal brains has this down to an art.

On the contrary, I thought the same as other guy that balancing must be 'NASA head-spin tier' difficult to solve.
But when I sat down and really thought about it and started calculating on the physics involved it amazed me how much more simple the problem is than what I had imagined.

My human reference is broken into gender, clothing and pose. One branch might look like this:

Inspiration artwork I just leave sort of loose in the folder. I rename files with (if I know it) the title and artist name and then sprinkle in a few keywords I'd know I'd use to search if I was going to look for it again.
