I already kinda professional. But to be honest i always wanted to come out and draw something wild - like gay posters or gay cover for a magazine...or have an interview as a gay artist.
And im not talking about "durr yaoi lolz Comissions are open!". im about real art of a lgbt theme. With professional feel and serious themes.
And im close to it honestly. Funny that almost nobody knows about my secret but i manage to make a name already and only closed community knows about it.
After that...
after that my goal are "be less depressive fag and draw with optimism", I can do anything if im not feeling down.
I gone through so much shit...it's literally "no limits" and "you can be anything if you really want it to happen".
It's just...you have to be less...i can find words. It's that secret powers that helps genius work without sleep and questioning his dream.

I know. I've actually tried using one. I didn't like it, nor did I like how my work came out. But the later could have been due to lack of skill. All in all, lightboxing isn't "for me" as far as I can tell. One artist that I have in mind that has gone on to say that he doesn't use one (though he's moved onto using digital models and the life for his work) is David Finch. He just sketches everything out lightly, erases it with a kneaded eraser, then goes over it again with a softer/darker lead. That way he keeps the organic look of his initial sketches as well as the guideline for what he wants to keep.

I've adopted that method and have been doing it ever since. I'm no pro yet but I think I've gotten pretty decent over the years (pic related). And this isn't bad mouthing artists that do use lightboxes or calling it a crutch.I've seen some amazing work from the ones that do. Its just a personal preference.

You're really bad, kid. Your deviantart has the same shit on it, you don't have any structure to anything you do, no knowledge of perspective, anatomy, color, lighting, thought process, design sense, care for your work. You're calling yourself an art god...what the ACTUAL fuck is going through your mind? You're the utter shit of /ic/, you've been on DA for FIVE WHOLE YEARS and you haven't improved one fucking bit. I'm only pissed because people like you make artist look like weeaboo faggots who go around community colleges wearing fucking ears and tails and playing magic all god damn day long. I was 20 when I started, it's been an uphill struggle since, I've always thought I was too far behind to do anything, that'd it take me 10+ years to learn this craft and I'd never catch up to my successors. I started taking advance classes at a college that a concept artist was teaching, there were multiple times where the entire class would laugh at my art, myself included, because of how bad it was. You have to get over yourself, you're only twenty, you have plenty of time and plenty of energy to make it, you'll just have to sacrifice a lot of your pleasures for about three years. If you play any games, drop them for awhile to work on your art. They'll be around if you ever want to come back to them, decide on what's important now rather than crying over how late you're starting. Anyone can do this, it just takes actual time dedicated to it to learn anything.

This was mine in 2010, holy shit lololol

My own goal is to be upheld as one of the premiere cartoonists of the 21st century. I want to strive to make sure my work is fluid, elastic, filled with raw power in the posing and execution of it all, but most importantly, funny. Also, to draw in a way that's inspired and instantly recognizable, unmistakeable.

Willard Mullin is my go-to guy, if I had to list a guy. All of that raw power and looseness. My real inspiration is life, in an Aristotelian way. He had that way of philosophy where he tried to break down big concepts into terms and properties. Five kinds of things, ten properties of this/that, etc. I do the same thing, because I'm creating the box where everything's categorized. So I can then use that to ascend and create work that truly feels inspired and fantastical. Wayne Barlow is one of those artists I feel that has just jumped off the charts into truly creative territory. Half the stuff he has painted (particularly hell and fantasy creatures) just feels beyond my comprehension right now. Not in what it is, but understanding what could have inspired him, what knowledge and base he's worked with. Heironymous Bosch is another such artist that feels to be on the same cosmic level.

I want to be a masterful realist painter. Inspirations are John Singer Sargent, Ilya Repin, Alphonse Mucha, and Toulouse-Lautrec. Sorry about the low quality pic, mobile right now.

Dickgirls aside, InCase is actually a pretty high-level draftsman. Good dynamic posing, good anatomy, good facial expressions, good values; he's really pretty good.

I really, really like Michael Komarck. He's a technically phenomenal painter, and I love his storytelling. I'd love to do something similar, speaking in terms of art-endgames. The level of technical proficiency necessary to pull it off is daunting, however.
