An anon just claimed that Manga Studio 5 has more tools/better brushes/higher resolution settings than something like Paint Tool Sai, but is like 60 bucks cheaper. Is he talking out of his ass?

Really though, just torrent everything and try them all.
Manga studios is better though.

My sides.

But seriously OP, its pretty much the same as SAI, but with a couple of better things like a tool to type text and better layer referencing.

9/10 would torrent again.

i'd say it's quite a bit better than sai.
i also like the UI a lot

How is it better exactly? Does it have ie. tools for linework as good as SAI or, hopefully, even better?

Manga studio is god-tier.
I actually enjoy painting because of it. I still keep PS for work and finishing touches though. Too bad manga studio it'll never become mainstream.

Those guys are pretty greedy faggots. Manga Studio 4 didn't have an eyedrop tool unless you bought the EX version. So they can suck it.
Manga Studio 5 is much better though, but again features were left out of the regular version that Manga Studio 4 had standard.

MS4 wasn't really worth talking about, but ms5 is fantastic

Laggy brush engine, no color blending, fucking annoying stroke overlapping*, shitty smudge tool.

*dont tell me "use full opacity" or "blend it later" scrubs. I know and I do it, regardless its annoying, in ie. Painter two strokes just blend together naturally and you dont have to waste time fixing this shit 24/7

Samefag here, so far I really like Manga Studio. Its like Photoshop made by people that dont poop on digital painters and actually add useful shit while keeping the overall interface. Have yet to figure out if/how to make your own brushes to take advantage of my PS brushes, thats like the only thing I miss right now.

I never used Paint Tool SAI but I can tell you MS is awesome.

BTW Manga Studio is only available to purchase as a physical disc.

Buy Clip Studio Paint instead. It's exactly the same program (with very minor differences) but it's available for digital download.

The disc is fine to have but you cannot download it digitally. This means if you ever lose the disc or it's destroyed you must then purchase another copy. Also after purchasing you must pay shipping and wait for it to arrive at your doorstep.

On the other hand Clip Studio Paint is only offered as a digital download. You can redownload it as many times as you would like and you can also start using the program immediately after purchase.

>> No.1761705

>>1761518
Because I dont want to

a) pay for the shipping to my shithole country
b) wait months for the disc to arrive while I could have it in 2 mins

I'd probably just buy it, tell them to fuck off with the disc and just download it.

Right now it's similar to SAI in terms of functionality, but not nearly as extensive as Manga/Clip Studio.
However, they'll be releasing v6 within the next months, which will have an upgraded brush engine with a lot of new brush parameters. May be worth looking out for if you like a simpler program for the purpose of doodling/playbacks.
