I like Moebius' work because it's colorful and abstract. I recently read one of his stories and the story wasn't all that interesting. I like him for his beautiful pictures. Some of his drawings remind me of Alphons Mucha, who i really dig.

As for this particular picture: It's a really well made atmospheric piece. Arzak and his pterodactyl express a great sense of motion and i like how a lot of his stuff has a kind of "sandy" feel to it. The building in this pic looks like it was made out of stone, similar to something a termite would build. Those are some nice stone textures.

The black/white/red one is from a Chinese artist, though I don't know the name. The one with the two girls twisting (right next to the chinese one) is Juder a husband and wife due from korea. The woman with the halo (black and white too) is by Harry Clarke, irish illustrator for books and such.

I probably owe the most to the intro to Bebop. Seeing that intro when I was younger is what convinced me to go intro graphic design. It's also what lead me to great designers like Reid Miles and Saul Bass. Most recently, Kevin Tong and Olly Moss.

As far as illustration goes, Leyendecker has influenced me the most, hands down. Then I saw work from Sean Murphy and fell in love with ink. Obligatory Otomo and Waterson.

I'm not actually a fan of At the Drive-In, so I have no idea if the imagery relates to the lyrics at all. Kevin does a lot of gig posters and recently started doing a lot more shit for Mondo as well. That one just happens to be one of my favourites.
