Has any of you tried drawing people walking by in a public place?
Does it feel a little awkward when someone notices you and make an eye contact? Is it weird as fuck when some creepy guy walks into a park and start drawing everyone?
I feel that it'd be a good practice for me but I don't want to look like a creep or make people fee very uncomfortable.

nope

if someone doesnt like it they can walk away

No one would notice or really care considering how many creeps, weird people and total nutjobs are walking around parks.

I have the same problem. At the moment I prefer to find pictures and apply on them perspective lines on a new layer. Probably it's not like drawing live, but at least I force myself to see things in 3d

No one cares about you drawing at a public place.
If you draw shitty, they will care even less about you.

I paint in public sometimes. No one has ever been weirded out, and usually some will stop, watch, tell me I'm good, even take pictures of me working. Now and then people will ask to buy my sketch. But I will say that if you aren't very good, your reactions might not be as good. Try a more secluded location until you're comfortable being watched.

The main problem I had was drawing people as they're moving around.
I usually just draw people and statues at the museum because they're just standing around, or I draw animals at the zoo, because they're sitting around bored.
You do get "can you draw me right now?" all the time though

I draw in public a lot. Little kids say nice things as they pass by. Some people look or fidget and get uncomfortable. Some people seem to like that they're being drawn. Guess what, none of them probably think about it ever again after that day. You shouldn't really give a shit.

>> No.1658912

I'm going to find some random park or something tomorrow and I'll be drawing random people walking by. Haven't gone outside for like weeks. Wish me luck.

I do it almost everywhere. You don't have to feel awkward. Helps me make friends too, people appreciate being drawn for the most part (and if it's decent, it's fun to give the sketches to people)
