I'm going to be dropping out of art school very soon. For no other reasons than I can no longer afford it, even on loans and scholarships it has become a financial burden on me and my family, and we're about 5 months behind on tuition.

Sob story aside, I don't plan to give up on artwork. Where and how could I begin studying and perfecting the craft on my own. I'm in my 3rd year of cartooning and illustration.

errr just draw, study and practice, what else is there to say? schools are only to create some environment to forced you to draw if you're lazy as fuck, in the end it's still up to you to push your skills yourself.

post a sample work, lets see if 2+ years of school have given you any skills.

>implying /ic/ is a productive environment to learn and grow in one's art
Uh, no. He can learn a lot from the internet generally, and there are decent art communities to be found on the Internet, but /ic/ has very few truly talented users that post with any frequency, and suffers generally from the snide and destructive attitude that characterizes 4chan.

no. no no no no no no. although i get what you mean, but still. yeah ofcourse the freshmen gonna have to sink or swim, just like i had to when i first set a foot in here. but those that swim will blossom and prosper, i have no doubt about that.

i can't possibly overstate how much i owe this place, and i'm not even done.

If education was as expensive here as it is in the US, I'd be doing Vilppu Academy or something similar instead of doing a degree

Where you go to school, brah?
Searching for a good school myself, and seeing as most colleges and universities try to sell themselves I'd rather talk to a student with a slightly clearer view on it all.
