I would like to discuss the turning points and trials of getting where you are today -- for better or worse.

I grew up with drawing being the thing I was best at. Because of this I didn't feel a burning desire to improve like I would have liked to. Now at 19 years old I'm still drawing like pic related. It kills me that someone half my age can draw several times better than I can.

Was there a point when anyone else felt the same way and finally broke through? I plan to keep working hard at it every day so I can make a 'years progress' pic worth sharing.

Yes, I felt this way a few months ago, while reading an art magazine with someone the same age as me (18) published in it. I'm not a person who meditates on negative thoughts long because it just leaves me feeling well negative.
My life has changed a bit this year and now ideally by June of 2015 I need to be supporting myself through my work. So basically I just don't have time to worry about who is younger and better. There will always be people in life better than you at your craft and even if you were "the best" you still have figure out how to 1-up yourself.
