Newbie here. There mostly seems to be tutorials about how to draw high-detail super-realistic stuff. What if you want to learn to draw stylized, like pic related? (I love Matt Dixon's stuff!) Should you still learn to do true-to-life stuff first or what?

You should learn the fundamental skills that are common to all forms of visual art. "High-detail super-realistic stuff" isn't something that you just choose to do, it's beyond most people's capabilities and isn't necessary if you just want to make fap images. It's more important that you can consistently draw and shade primitives in perspective
