I'll help but I'm hoping that more people contribute to the thread. Most of the tutes I have are from /ic/ so I'll really just be repeating what was posted in prior threads.

>> No.1561316

Adduction and abduction are opposing actions, like flexion and extension. Google the muscle names next time.

anything on the limits of the twists/turns etc the body can make? (ie how far can you bend your spine, twist your torso, even subtle things like the wrists)

Thanks.

>> No.1561396

>>1561391

Don't have a tutorial, but there is nothing better than getting up and doing poses yourself once in a while. This is like making faces while you draw expressions. It's helpful even without a mirror, as you will be relying on your proprioception.

Always exaggerate a little bit; the human body can achieve positions in motion it cannot necessarily hold when stationary.

the lower left is a bad simplification that the artist is able to work in their style, but it's no good for emulation. The back of the hand is not a square box. It curves and arches with the knuckles.
>>1560962
you will intuitively understand the rhythm of the body (curve->straight->curve, etc) after learning some proper anatomy. Also, this is only a cheat sheet for that one angle, since it doesn't consider volume. Legs look quite different seen from the front, or when the figure is seated.
>>1561134
just look up actual body-builder photos

process ok, anatomy off

the actual pelvis is okay, which is why it's odd that the outline is placed without regard to the landmarks the pelvis creates.
>>1561160
>>1561163

I've marked all the "tutorials" I think are useless or might actively set beginners back.

Most of these have the problem that an artist is illustrating anatomy in a cartoony style. If you need anatomy reference, use a book or a model or even a photo of yourself, not some shit you found online.
>>1561149
Even this, which is decent apart from shoddy linework and - foreshortening, has nothing on a good reference work.

A lot of these look like personal reference which found its way online. It's okay and good to make personal references. The danger lies in copying the mistakes other people made in theirs.

>> No.1561732

Depends entirely upon what you are doing. Hampton uses straights as well. He only really uses C-S alternations in muscle groups with high activity. Otherwise, you can really just follow the bodies natural rhythm. There is a lot of leeway with art, and at the end of the day, you should focus on what looks correct and appealing.
