You really picked a tedious task. There's no fast way to do it unless you abstract the whole city into splotches of light and shadow.
For accuracy you shouldn't do building by building, but section part of your painting off and then keep subdividing it. If you guess the proportions of every single building and join them together errors will compound.

>> No.7467274 [View]

>>7467271
yeah subdividing makes sense. i did building by building and some of them ended up being like 3 times bigger relative to the ones i drew much earlier.

Almost 3 hours for sketch that's anatomically wrong and little bit of incredibly low quality lineart. I am really mad at myself i am not better.

capes (really any fabric like it) are supposed to have little waves that cover one another. you've gotta imagine the fabric's form, yours has got some folds, but they don't change the outline at
all.

what i'm saying might sound retarded. in that case, i'd recommend simply studying capes in art and IRL.

No. That's how I find artists. The retard in me buys shit I didn't need, and the jew in me forces me to research how to use it. This exposes me to new artists and new equipment, which I buy without needing, perpetuating the cycle.

I have noticed that non porno nude models tend to turn me off, not just sexually, but to wanting to draw. I don't know what it is, but that's part of it. I just get my drawing subjects from /pol/ slide thread OP images. If they hit the bump limit, you know they work.
Pic is an example. Retarded thread, but a lot of people clicked it.
