>is it possible to achieve?
Ideally, yes, it could be achievable by multiple artist setting up an example. But that would mean to play the twisted game and then risk it all for a chance.
Realistically, the humble artist cannot fit in such an industry dominated and dictated by egomaniacs and kept alive by mindless consumers and greedy corporations.
Thus
>lots of them wish they didn't have to do it
The humble artist becomes part of the problem by contributing to the system thus become the problem itself and never change a thing because he is dependent from the system.
It's a paradox.

The only solution i see is to let the industry die and start rebuilding but the art industry in general, is unkillable.
There will always be someone making art and someone paying to get art made. This attracts then more people who want to get into that business thus repeating this cycle endlessly.
You also can't really expect every major artist to come together and end the system they're benefiting from.
What will definitely destroy the industry is people not buying.
Parasites that are in for the money will leave.
Obviously, we won't ever have something like the renaissance ever again unless we were to be thrown back to the middle ages.
It's a very difficult question, to be honest.
There are so many layers and so many variables, it is quite difficult to go for a definitive answer.
But the main problem i can safely claim to be, are people themselves.
As long as you'll have retards, we can't have good things.
>is there any hope for them?
Abandon hope, ye who enter.

>It's like he desperately wants to be a more normal, respected digital illustrator, but he feels that his only outlet for this is NSFW art. It looks like he's really forcing himself to make this shit.
