Depends on what you want. I'd say keep it simple, just because stylized expressions can be less of a headache to draw than attempting something more realistic, especially if you're asking for tips in the first place.

Lots of manga struggle to make the characters look exactly the same in every shot. The trick is to design the characters in such a way that you don't need to draw them perfectly on model to know who they are. Ultimately, so long as they look close enough that it doesn't read like we're suddenly cutting to somebody entirely different, it doesn't matter.
