I think naievity has gone in and out of fashion in the artworld for quite while, its a pretty massive 'genre'.

I dunno about that, theres still a lot of fantastic figurative work being made and shown

this is kinda important though, people like to be contemporary art to be at least a little challenging / open to interpretation
