You can also do it while not making a recreation of material things.

Just because more complexly created emotional pieces exist doesn't mean that low complexity emotional pieces are worthless or shouldn't exist.

To be able to evoke emotion with extreme simplicity is a special type of art when virtually all else involves the opposite.

Being able to do what modern art does (simplicity while also looking balanced and consistent with no incongruities) is difficult and definitely requires an artist's eye. You would have to try it and see how hard it actually is to really realize it.

Also most modern artists are talented in "real" art but still create it. Like how Disney animators could draw a realistic mouse.

But you and everyone else who has never thought about the subject can think "it isn't a PICTURE of a THING so it SUCKS and is POINTLESS" and leave it at that. No skin off anyone's ass
