How do you guys go about set dressing?

If I paint people fucking in an entirely white room it looks too creepy and unnatural. So I try to include props and furniture but I don't know what to add. I look for references but if I google "room" or "restaurant" I only end up with clean and sterile magazine photos. Not helpful at all.

So how to use set design to add naturality? Pic related, it helps a lot to make the character feel alive.
