First charcoal drawing! Was supposed to be for practicing values of a still life, but I can see where I fucked up picking a poor subject.

I think I spent too much time focusing on rendering that I didn't pay attention to the lighting consistency...

What do y'all think?

value study of still life

stuff i feel like i couldve done better:
do details in light, not in shadow (ie get a better subject)
correct perspective with better lay-in
don't make rendering in such high detail a priority as a beginner - draw more, focus on values, get 'em down quick, move on
