I've been drawing since as I was a kid. I would draw navy ships, game characters, mom, dad, me, etc. with crayon in kindergarten and elementary school.

I took art classes in middle school and studio art classes in high school. I was particularly good with pencil and drawing fine details.

In high school I got the National Scholastic Gold award in drawing. And I also received the school purchase award, in which the school bought my ink drawing for $300.

In college, the art program was very small and secretive. It was particularly difficult for people to join the program.

But I told them I won the scholastic gold award, and that got me into Painting and Advanced Painting classes in college.

I painted some of my best paintings in my life in Advanced Painting class in 2010.

Then I transferred to RISD in 2011 where I completed the summer foundation program and stayed for one semester in the fall. Some of my best works also came out of that period.

Then I left RISD for a while then never returned. I underwent a process to get exempt from mandatory military service in South Korea for disc in my neck. That took several years. During that time my art went completely downhill. I don't want to show even a single piece from 2012 because they were so bad. I returned to the States in 2013, then went back to S. Korea in 2014. Light of Truth and Rimma Simonova were painted in 2014. Before returning to the States in 2015, I painted Her Garden. These 3 are some of my best works with acrylic impasto technique.

After getting exempt, I returned to the States in 2015 and painted on my own since that time. 2015 was mediocre but 2016 was much better, and it seems that 2017 is my best year yet (if you discount the 2~3 paintings I did in 2010).

I will be attending SVA in the fall to complete my BFA.
