could anyone tell me a range of colors i should get when starting off with copics?

I'd like to start with grays so i could learn value and learn to color better but not sure which ones i should get; i'll be taking advantage of the 50% off coupons at michaels for them so i'll have to buy them one at a time.

would really appreciate a fast response so i can beat the fatties ( they seem to buy up all the copics....)
