finally went back to Keys to Drawing after 2 weeks of fucking around, gonna finish it
moving onto Draw A Box afterwards so I can learn construction since my intent is to draw from imagination anyway

this is Project 4 -A, mapping out drawings into light and shadow
I think my proportions are getting better, even if there's slight mistakes (like the right shoulder)

any type of reference (photo, 3D image) isn't drawing from life, and in your case you're drawing something that isn't real, so it's even less 'like drawing from life'
that said, a dynamic 3D image is better than an image if your goal is to draw from life, especially if you can play with the lighting yourself
