Your traditional stuff is significantly worse than your digital. Train more with real ink. That should help you with getting out of this bad habit of fixing your art until it looks OK; don't keep fixing your art, do it right from beginning. This approach is much more intense and harder, but it will really pay off.
And do more skull studies - I feel that when you do your portraits you're focused more on just copying what you see rather than analysing underlying structures and forms.
