>Why even subject yourself to it, if you don’t intend to get any better?
A: I absolutely intend on getting "better" and I already have significantly.
B: Fuck safespacing. I like using argumentation and conflict and having an underlying debate behind the things that I do. Spite and angst and tribalism are powerful motivators.

>That's twisted logic if I've ever seen it. What does anybody elses painting skills have to do with your badly painted shitposting?
It's making a claim from ignorance mostly. My point was that it's essentially the definition of the Dunning-Kruger concept that people with no frame of reference and low ability are the most confident and likely to overestimate their own abilities and not appreciate the intricacies and complexities of the "skill."

People with zero experience painting on canvas are generally the most critical, and their criticisms are almost always the least meaningful.

yeah that's defitely one of the better ones for the longer gogh strokes + psychadelic color meme. And yeah the glasses were the last thing I did with the same brush as everything else, and they're the thing I look at when I look at it.

And yeah I need to start doing pallet knives now since I'm getting more and more into strokez. Plus all my brushes are fucked.

>Why do you always stop painting at the sketch and block in stage dude?
idk theres a lot of reasons. i work on a bunch of canvasses at a time. A lot of the first year was getting paint on canvas, normally by taking leftover paint and etc idk.
>nothing is perfect
>and anything is better
>time is entropy
anything is better than perfect
> Do you ever finish anything?
None are done until it all is. It's a stream of consciousness spiraling out thing.

Like pic related was one that was worked on the same day a year apart or whatever. It starts as a quick aside and then spirals out over time.

>heh
beavis and butthead
>but i love you because i know for certain that people tend to improve right, its natural. but you, youre special. you haven't improved in the slightest.
nope
>you may not make anything out of your art since you will probably live out your entire life in mediocrity.
already better than you'll ever be at anything. Prove me wrong LMAO
> it does give me hope that i will actually do something with mine, because i have improved in a short span of time.
Your pic related tells a different story
>XD dont bother trying to break this up to try and answer it
whoops
> im not being mean its a compliment and you should take it.

>Are you joking?
no
>None of the things you've posted are finished.
Literally none of them are. The entire project is all one thing.

And I post them unfinished on the art critique board to solicit suggestions on how to finish them. But instead it's always just anons telling me my fundamentals are gay or whatever.
>It's like you give up and then move on to the next
Yep. Harnessing my ADHD to keep moving forward, which frustrates my OCD from all the unfinished shit towards wanting to do better on the next ones. Some of them will be worked on every year. Some of them just randomly get worked on. etc. It's a great project. I'm sorry it's so inexplicably upsetting to so many chidrens.

the secret is starting off intentionally bad so that when you're later just competent people are like "wow!"

Not to mention that for most people, doing literally ANYTHING is more impressive than nothing. Nobody ever cares about how someone managed to justify why they choose not to be a producer.

hmm
>calls it pieces
yep. Acrylic on canvas panel.
>Even calling it studies should be considered a crime because you don't learn jack from rastering 300 memes.
I don't think I know how to raster anything. Is this a translation error or are you retarded or what?

And yeah you learn a whole fucking gaggle of shit. Learn way more about everything than you do fucking drawing anime tiddies on your tablet you contemptuous bag of liquid shit.

always be /beg/

Once you get competent you should keep expanding and trying new things. Circlejerking about anatomy is only important for absolute poindexter newfags.

Basic drawing is like learning how to make your letters. Then you're supposed to branch out to new mediums and ideas and techniques or whatever beyond just being able to fucking make a pretty sketch. Being amazing at hand drawing is like being an amazing calligrapher or whatever and thinking you could write a good book.
