Muroi sensei (a Japanese animator and art teacher) says it's 80% copying your favorite artist, 10% sketching photo or reality and 10% drawing your original illustration.
If you are a beginner, for a whole year you should focus on 3/4 view angle face and full body standing pose.
Forget studying anatomy and perspective systematically. Instead, just learn them as much as necessary. Never forget that you'll improve 90% by hands and only 10% by eyes and head.
