Go talk to your customers ... the users who will benefit from what you do. If you take a hundred of them, you might find a handful (and not always among the management, which only provides further evidence that Dilbert is actually a documentary) who would even have the capacity to wrap their heads around the concepts behind what you do on a daily basis "with very little effort". It'd be an entirely different plane of reality - like trying to explain to your grandmother how to use an iPhone.
