Resident schizo-anon here.

I’m not a master of anatomy / painting or anything, but you can try adding some midtones around areas that you want to define more - if that’s confusing though you can try drawing cross contours where you think some arbitrary “bump” (or plane) of light and shadow is supposed to go

If you want to make it even simpler, you can “sculpt” the entire form out using planes only, and then worry about blending later

I did a shit ton of grayscale sphere studies early on, per Naranbaatar Ganbold’s recommendation

The volumes I use here are pretty disgusting looking, but you can replace them with whatever else that looks more pleasing to the eye, I’m just trying to demo how thinking about literally sculpting the form out can help a lot with rendering more defined volumes, because even the most stylized forms of rendering still rely fundamentally on plane changes
