/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

How come, when i use very thin ink lines, it looks like a creepy traced thing? It looks normal in pencil, and it looks fine if i use thicker lines.
(it's unfinished and meant to be colored, so hopefully by the end it'll look fine, but that inked one really gives me a bad vibe).
When i add preliminary shadowing at least it looks less jarring, but still has that feel.

Trying new rendering techniques, any input welcome.
