>How do you stop hating your own art?
>Every time I look at a drawing of mine I feel immense disgust
When this happens, you feel that your entire self is worth only as much as your art. You are so caught up in wanting your art to be up to a standard that that you are literally in "DO OR DIE" mode. You feel like you put everything into it, your heart and your soul and now you attribute your heart and soul into the piece you created and it is not enough. You could be suffering other mental problems like depression/anxiety/self hatred etc. which then you project into your art because all your heart and soul is in your art.

It could also be a self defense mechanism against the feeling of failure,be it real or merely perceived. Making the art likely took considerable effort fr you and your natural mental defenses telling you:
>Look at this why did you bother with all the effort was it even worth it? Life is very short you already have no time, it is not worth it to even try.

But it only wants to prevent you from feeling worse about yourself again. It protects you the simplest way it can come up with.

The standards you measure up to were likely set by yourself and they are either unrealistically high and/or you look for the mistakes either consciously or unconsciously. Because the logic is that "if it has no mistakes then it must be good" but this is backwards thinking that comes for perfectionist mindsets. There is no universal bar for what is good and flaws often make the art what it is.

A way to get over this is simply trying to let go. To let go of the deep connection between the art you have just created and your own self. What you did is just one small step in your art journey and likely a short irrelevant moment in your life. You will make more art and this is simply one step and it should be treated as one.

"But will it be worth it?"

Rest easy knowing that ultimately life is meaningless and we are all just dead men walking. So it doesn't matter.

It's okay OP, do not feel bad. Just take a break and see you tomorrow. I believe in you, you will find your fire again.

Not every OC is a success.

I told you in the the other thread
>>6455788

You will likely not get things right on one go you need to keep trying and iterating your character(s). It takes patience, as you keep drawing and iterating on them you will getbetter at drawing them and also will grow more close to them.

Hating on them right after can also come from your own insecurities. You felt like you have accomplished something yesterday by creating your OC and it felt good you, got a dopamine hit from seeing that you had something accomplished. But the next day is another day and you are not feeling the same dopamine hit, you expected to feel it again when you look at your character but you are not getting it. So you are disappointed and you overcompensate and start hating it for not getting what you felt yesterday. The satisfaction yesterday likely came from you getting your shit together and creating something. From the act of creating a thing not directly from the thing itself.

>how should i fix it im blind to my mistakes
Keep changing/refreshing your view like Anon said in >>6451369 art is a complex process and you simply have to make mistakes to learn from them even if you keep making them eventually you will learn that is the price to pay but trust me it is worth paying.

You are not supposed to "beat people" this is the backwards mindset. It shows that your entire motivation is defined by those others. It is is sneaky but it tells you that without those other people you would have nothing. You are focusing mostly on THEM and ignoring your own desires. While at the same time you do not know what those others are going through you just assume that the grass is greener on their own side while oftentimes this is wrong as well. Just because you do nor see/know it, it can still be there

The second problem with this mindset is that it is a "Scarcity mindset." It tells you that life is a "zero sum game", you either "win or loose" you "live or die." This mindset tells you that the world's resources are so limited that the only way to get ahead is by taking it away from other. It tells you that there isn't enough money/work/love/space etc. left for you because it is all a taken already.

This mindset is objectively wrong and self defeating, it tells you that you shouldn't seek help becasue that shows that you are weak and thus unfit to live. But you should seek help and cooperation. It tells you that you must not help others because they will just use you and take advantage of you. Again, objectively wrong, if you contribute in a meaningful way people will appreciate and will reciprocate and help you out in return. Civilization was achieved on cooperation and putting our heads together.

While there are certainly many dark things in life and history has shown us terrible things your problems today are not a direct life or death scenario (at least I hope.) Try to work on yourself and change this mindset.
