I see no wrong in this, exactly my work process.
I do have one question, are you, yourself unsatisfied with your own work flow and results, or do you want thing to look ''cleaner'' because only of outside opinions. Since there's nothing wrong for a piece to have strong or heavy lines. I do think your art has a lot of charm, I really like the bunny guys hair. Of course you can always improve thing like anatomy, gesture and so on. But if you want more cleaner/confident lines, I'd recommend practice line weight, avoid re-drawing lines atop on each other, just do one line at a time and connect them. I also recommend you to to study folds, right now they feel a bit randomly placed, try draw the folds more softer/lighter since it feels like they take the focus away a bit atm.
