You're talking like your series is about to get axed from shonen jump. Unless you're planning on having your series go for 1000 chapters then you can take your time, quality over quantity. If you're really concerned about time constraints then you're better off studying the theory really hard so you can create cool and memorable minimalist backgrounds. Takemitsu zamurai does this really well.
