The corset feels flat. If it's going to be flat, you should try to stylize or exaggerate it. Make it look intentional. Even as a beginner you can cheese a lot of things that way by thinking graphically rather than literally. Basically, draw a cartoon.
Still, another way to go is to think of the form or perspective. Look up "see through corset" and trace over some examples, paying attention to any perspective clues. Lines, ellipses, etc. Then draw what you traced, and then do it from memory. The essential shape of a corset is an hourglass and you can reduce it to just a few angles and 6 sides (two triangles with tips touching).

You're doing the right thing to do a mix of study and imaginative work. But you might improve faster if you study *for* your imaginative work. Right now your studies are a bit haphazard, which is understandable at the start, but the better you can direct your efforts towards a concrete goal, the quicker you'll see results.
