Your Artist's Brain: Use the Right Side of Your Brain to Draw and Paint What You See - Not What You Think You See
by Carl Purcell

sadly not many books are available on this topic. most forms of artistic instruction are just an exercise for the author to masturbate publicly or a simple grab for money by feeding beginners what they want to expect.

no need to get upset and pick a fight when you haven't even ascertained what i'm saying.

studying the form can mean anything. you can make plastic models and 3D meshes for years and still paint those things like dogshit. knowing how light works is the single best thing you can know if you want to paint a particular form. without light you have nothing.

and if you're one of those people who masturbates to perfectly anatomical drawings of male bodies i think you want something other than painting.

>be into some fictional canon
>want to draw content related to that universe
>assclowns in this thread super convinced this is WRONG and you should only do one thing at a time, as if multi-tasking hadn't been firmed established in modern work ethic for decades.
>thousands of artists listen to music while drawing
>most westerners relate to reality now through indoctrinated media like movies, tv, and games. but fuck trying to mix drawing into all that because it's WRONG to do two things at once.
>plenty of artists seem to require a plot or mental trance to enable their creativity
>nah fuck all that shit. you just become The Camera and draw uninspired meatbodies for a dead academic culture.

his work is pretty detailed. wanna try another example to support the aggressive position you've taken vs your imaginary opponent?

>most trendy art of today is lazy and sloppy and want to know what are some of the causes for it
digital artists today spend hours polishing the lighting effects on a piece of shit or churn out as many simplistic pieces as possible. digital artists lacking any sort of artistic appreciation decided on process and popularity over final work and merit. this is just more consequences of that fast paced unthinking modern lifestyle so it goes highly unnoticed.
