I'm guessing it's referring to Proko's Kangaroo drawing. Proko was streaming and talking about learning to draw from life and realistically first before trying to draw from imagination, and then tried to draw a kangaroo from memory.

It... was very not good. He then meekly concludes that you shouldn't leave imaginative/creative drawing til' the end. Proko isn't a bad artist by any means, he can draw realistically very well, but he is a case study of what a bad learning style can do to you. It should also be noted he's trying to improve in this regard now and has made some strides in this regard since then (though still far from great last I've seen).

how did you learn, what worked what didn't? currently my study is:

> anatomy study w/ memory drawing
> rotating references in space
> making terrible poses from imagination

lol neurotypical people are not going to spend 8+ hours a day alone drawing shit and delving deep into all the subjects involved in making art. plus, autistic people are more creative.
proko is an example of about how far you can get as a neurotypical artist.
