I'm learning animation in a computer graphics/art school and recently a big source of motivation to draw for me has been hatred for a classmate. Her personality is pretty shitty in general, but the thing that really irks me is that her art is way better than mine (almost pro level really) and she constantly keeps downplaying how good it is every time someone points out how. Humblebragging drives me up the wall and I can hear it happen nearly every day. She's also not fucking doing anything with her skills, in a constant state of self-pity, and I find this lack of ambition infuriating.
I can see she's been stagnating for years now and part of me really wants to surpass her to rub it in her face before we have to part ways when the cursus ends.
