>1. If I eventually want to draw digital, would it still be a good idea to begin with drawabox or what would be the best path to my final goal?
Paper is fine, it's really easy to make the jump back and forth. You can also draw on both. Do not worry about it. Only do Drawabox until you understand how to draw boxes correctly, anything after that is a massive waste of time.
>2. What do you guys do to keep yourselves motivated? Sometimes I start a bit but ultimately decide to shelve it or once life becomes too busy.
Motivation is a meme. Develop habits instead. Every day, a page of sketches, even quickly done trash when you don't have time. Being a beginner kinda sucks for a while but that's also when you learn the most, I didn't have fun until I got comfortable in these habits. Do not be too hard on yourself if you are not consistent at the beginning.
>3. Any recommended resources you would rate high? The sticky has a billion but I was wondering if there was something a beginner could use to really leap off from.
Perspective Made Easy, then you can look for stuff like Loomis or Vilppu or whoever teaches basic construction of the human body
Here's the single greatest piece of advice i was ever given though: don't get too caught in studying fundies. Once you understand the basics, go for finished pieces. If it turns out looking like shit then try again later. Only churn out some studies when you don't understand something (how does the arm articulation look? how to construct a hand? etc).

She might unironically have “soul” or “talent”, and be a savant to some degree, or you’re just retarded. Back to Loomis either way

By the way, once she’s 18, send her my way

While >>4211598 gives great advice regarding books and figure drawing, I think you have the wrong idea about books and getting good in general. You won't improve if you bash your head against a wall copying shit you dislike and hating every second of it. Imagine an inexperienced sculptor- do you think the guy will try to master every possible thing to do with a chisel before getting started on an actual piece? That's not how it goes. Michelangelo didn't pop the Pieta out of his ass after grinding a thousand marble arms and a thousand marble boxes.
Books and guides are there to help you when you get stuck, not the other way around.
All that to say, don't be afraid to draw characters from imagination, copy art of characters that you like (thats very important for anime faces, you can only really get it if you copy a lot). You'll get much more mileage doing that than mindlessly grinding roomis, with the added benefit of giving you a clearer idea of what areas you need to improve on. Don't disregard books but think of them as the tool they're meant to be.

If you have never drawn before it's an excellent starting point as it'll set you on the right path. No need to hammer 100% of the exercises in your brain, but you gotta understand what construction is about and how he does it.
Then later his books going more into detail about hand, head, etc. structures can be incredibly helpful when you don't get how to draw something no matter what your style is, the only really stylized thing about anime style is how the heads are drawn, the rest can be learned by Loomis and the likes (Bridgeman, Vilppu, Hampton,... Pick whatever you find most appealing).

TRY TO GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

You can do it anon, I believe in you

Don't listen to this fucking retard >>3966837 talent isn't real and you can't get there in a month. It's different for every person. The amount of time doesn't matter, what you NEED to do is start RIGHT NOW.

And I mean RIGHT FUCKING NOW. Just think about it like this, in 10 years you can have 10 years of experience drawing every single fucking day, or in 10 years you can complain that you didn't start earlier. Just start right fucking now.

You're never too old to start. In fact, since you're older, you'll be more mature and have a better understanding of what you personally need to do to become better. You won't have a retarded ego that gets in the way and makes excuses. You'll know you suck and you'll want to get better. I know people who started when they were 15 and are still shit at your age.

REMEMBER, if you've just started out you work will not be good, it doesn't need to be, just get in to the swing of actually drawing, and learning how to study. Most of all, enjoy it.

"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."
