I see what you're talking about now. I've been trying to go for a Ghbili-like stylization, with clean, clear shadow shapes but I could probably put more thought into the shapes themselves.

I hardly study books because they usually don't click with me, which is something I should probably change. I always found it easier to learn through experimentation, analyzing what I did incorrectly and what could be improved, and integrating that in the next piece I did. The only book I can actually recommend is Hampton because it makes form and anatomy simple if you're a smoothbrain like me
