Except that when it's on the front page it gets more attention, particularly from autists who are bitter that they had to scroll past it to get to the standard page 1 draw thread, alt draw thread, how do I pornbux thread, guys isn't shadman so good thread, etc.

You can say it has nothing to do with the front page if you like, but you can track how many new IPs come into the thread on front page vs after the bump limit, likewise the number of posts on page one, especially bait posts which get a bunch of (you)s. There's always shitposting and terrible memes, sure, but the front page shitposting is by more non-LASsies, and so there tends to be more genuine anger behind it.
