Hello lads, I have a question. I have a shitload of free time (literally nothing to do at least till September), an iPad with an Apple Pencil, and a desire to draw anime girls and whatnot (like most people here, I assume). I need a hobby, and drawing seems like fun. My inspiration would probably be pic related, this is what I want my art to look like in a perfect world.
So I downloaded the first Loomis book, "Fun with Pencil", that's what everyone online recommends. After spending a few days with it, I think it's missing the mark for me. I don't really care for 40s American cartoons, and even though I understand how important it is to grasp the basics here, I want a more serious approach, but I'm not sure if it's a legitimate complaint at such an early point, or if I'm just bitching.
Should I stick with this book?
