So if I was just drawing boxes and cylinders in a scene I would decide on a perspective, set the horizon and vanishing points and then I'd know how to contour shapes. If it's advice the horizon, you're looking under it so the cylinder contours up away from your. But I could not "feel the form" while doing this study. I guess I could just do the top half in one direction and the lower half the other but how do I decide where the horizon actually is? How do I trace perspective on an organic shape. If I break it down to boxes it just feels like a flat angle.
