there's a developed mainstream market that exists only in a small niche bubble throughout the rest of the world. If the best artists in america saw a market for anime style and in general a wider acceptance of 2d animation outside of the simpsons and family guy, we'd probably surpass japan by shear numbers, but the world just don't go like that. All you can do is pursue what you like and if it catches on here it will, be the change you wish to see in the world anon

/ic/ has it's ups and downs.
In terms of resources and guides it's well stocked and sorted, plus there are some genuinely good artists on here, but their very rare.
On the downside, this place is probably the worst for criticism, not that everybody should be kissing ass, but a lot Of The people here either don't know what their talking about, don't have a resume of their own work easily available making their input impact less OR are insecure so feel the need to drag people who are genuinely trying down, to make themselves feel better for either not practising or progressing as much as they'd like/should.
