Keep the gesture simpler - concentrate on the 8 body parts. I drew this for another anon yesterday - maybe it helps you... besides that the gesture drawing is okay to not be anatomically correct - but once you get into construction you need to remember anatomy and proportions.

I suggest you try to work with references for now - photos of ppl dancing for examplr - translate those into gestures and add the construction after that.

These aren't gesture drawing - you are already a step too far - you are doing construction - gestures are only the C and S curves - then landmarks - then forms - then draw the rest of the fucking owl. I tried to demonstrate it.
