/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

I don't know what I'm doing. I had the head looking nice for a while but I think I went too far with the small strokes, and then trying to paint over that to fix it. I started painting towards the neck and now I'm just frustrated and I've completely lost focus. I understand what I'm supposed to be doing, but I just can't make it work. I think I went too bright with the lighter areas, and it looks all flat and shitty. If anybody has any advice on how to do this properly I'll give it a shot, but otherwise I think this is as far as I'm getting with this thing. This is my third try and it's the worst so far. I don't know what the intermediate is supposed to be between painting fucking basic shapes and furry fucking goats and shit. It's too much.
