That's not crosshatching just regular hatching.
And it's hard to give feedback because there is hardly anything there.
Other response is right though, get a different ref with more defined shadows.
Something to keep in mind is that hatching should either help define the form or clarify a change in value.
Might post something later to explain that better... if I don't get lazy.
