Okay, so it's my first time on this board and I'm not that really artistically inclined. I can't paint, draw or sketch. But I know how to do magic tricks, pretty good ones and I believe they're forms of art (dunno if you agree) but I'm not necessarily here to hone my skills at this art form...

This is Teller, from Penn & Teller and for a full year and a half now I have struggled to figure out how he does this trick

I've tried pure illusion that the rose petals really aren't there or that the blood was always there and the cover is falling but I don't know how.
Sleight of hand is a no go, there just ins't enough time to do anything significant.

Please I need help figuring this out.
