there is no angle a human body could be twisted into that is any more difficult than a standing pose or a front facing person. That's why so many great paintings are simple portraits or standing poses. It's the minuteness of details and boldness of form in the simple and boring that elevates a great painter from an average painter. If you claim anything is too boring to paint you are just trying to seem more adventurous than the average person. do away with your affectations. they are unbecoming.

also brushstrokes should follow the shapes of objects in the foreground. especially the sky in the painting you posted. look to van gogh for examples of brushstrokes outlining the main objects of a painting.

this is difficult advice to follow but the more you do it the easier it will be. Do this rather than just layering objects on top of other objects.
