I use a very tight 'precision' grip with my thumb, index and middle fingertips. I can only work on a single page or 2 a day maximum before it starts hurting.

The grip is so strong that when I put down the pencil there is a slight indentation on my fingertips from holding the pencil so hard. As expected, the paper gets pretty beat as a result.

I manage to mitigate this some by using a rubber grip or just putting a small piece of those kneaded rubber erasers around the area where I hold the pencil.

I honestly feel uncomfortable holding it in any other way.

Thanks anon, I appreciate the feedback. These are all from imagination, but I do use reference from time to time. Is it the shoulder/neck/chest part that seems off?

I can relate to that , I've never felt quite right calling it 'art' or myself an 'artist'. It just feels so snobby, you know? I am mostly trad at the moment but I guess the rendering process really makes it a drawing, I'm somewhat afraid of moving further into digital but, its sort of a necessary step.
Do you also do storyboards for your panels or do you just do like individual illustrations?
