Looks fine to me, I'm no master but I picked up on the "trapezium area" from watching manga like this. It's very exaggerated maybe since he's a muscular character, but that's what you are looking for. There's the neck, and that bit of back showing up known as the trapezium, which connects to the shoulders.

Which is what you did, I'm just confirming that it correct fine to me.

Post work and I'll try to tell you how to improve it, but they probably send you to read Hampton because they think there's no point in telling you how to re-draw one piece better, since you wouldn't learn enough from that.
